YK Seniors' Society is hosting a Silent Auction Aug 1 & 2 in the Old Johnson’s Supply Building. Featuring new and gently loved Heirloom quality pieces. Make sure to come by and see the selection of amazing items.

An Ode to Yellowknife in Clay by the Yellowknife Guild of Arts and Crafts for their 80th Anniversary

In honor of the Yellowknife Guild of Arts and Crafts 80th Anniversary, the folk who like to play in the mud are getting their hands dirty at Ramble and Ride, 2026. There will be pottery demonstrations of hand building, wheel and unique tools on display. In the ARCC trailer, visitors will have an opportunity to see Guild artists; interpretation on the

theme, Ode to Yellowknife in clay. And it would not  be a Guild celebration without making art! Join pottery artists to glaze tiles for an installation at the final celebration event in December.

Bike Parade on Latham Island - Saturday Aug 1

9:30 - 11:30am The Latham Island Neighbourhood Association (LINA) along with Old Town Bike Works and Ecology North Communities in Motion Group are organizing the annual Bike Parade. The event is open to everyone - kids and adults alike! Bikes, trikes, scooters, skateboards and strollers are all welcome! Costumes are optional, but they sure make for a fun and colourful parade! Be as creative as you wish!

WORN is a contemporary dance piece that uses shirts as a metaphor to explore how we in our personal relationships wear and carry each other. This performance has been developed through a residency with visiting dance artists Madz DeRose (MTL) and Solana Del Bel Belluz (CGY), and is performed by local Yellowknife dancers Benjamin Mujuni, Fia Grogono, Jordyn Riou, and Tomiko Robson. 

Kavanaugh’s -Bin Painting

Robyn Scott, James Wedzin, Alice Winkler, Hana Steinwand, Henri-Ben Martin and Matilda Charlo will be painting bins that will be then distributed around Yellowknife.
